Thank you for your tips.  I am now using M8 FreeClip and really like it.  It 
solves the issues I was experiencing and will be very handy to use along side 
Legacy.

 I think I have mentioned here before that I find M8
 FreeClip
 *invaluable* for use with Legacy.

 FreeClip has 2 columns - one showing temporary clips (when
 the column is
 full adding a new clip causes the oldest one to fall off the
 bottom) and
 the other for permanent clips, which can be named and
 edited.  I use the
 temporary column for anything I want to copy and paste into
 Legacy from
 websites/documents/etc.  I use the other column for
 storing the dates of
 UK Censuses, frequently repeated (in Sourcing) phrases and
 "templates"
 for all the regular transcriptions into Source Detail Text,
 such as BMD
 Certificates, Parish Registers and so on.
