Hello

Using Legacy version 7.5.0.286, I created an ancestor report of my uncle as
a gift for my cousin. I found something strange happening in the
ahnentafel/AFN numbers generated by the report.

Of the 11 children of Johannes B., there is descent in the lines of 3 of his
children.

Johannes B. (the father) is AHN# # 176.

His daughter A.B. does not have an AHN# beside her name in the children's
list, but she appears as #171 in her own record.

His son G.B. does not have an AHN# beside his name in the children's list,
but he appears as #176 in his own record.

His daughter S.B. does appear in the children's list with the #73.

Did this occur because 2 of the children's AFN# are greater than their
father's? In other words, does it select and only enter an AFN# if it is
lower than that of the parent? If I double either #171 or #176, the report
indicates this is a duplicate of #146 which is correct. The problem is that
under AFN#146, it looks as if there is descent of only one child, not 3
because # 171 & 176 are not entered beside the names of the children. Is
this a bug in the version of Legacy I am using? Would the latest version of
Legacy correct this?

Also, is there any way the report could be generated so that each person is
listed as (as example) AFN# 73, dau of J.B. (AFN # 146) & M.B.B (AFN# 147)?
In other words, include the AFN# of the parents in the record of each child?

Thank you for any explanation or help

Norma
