I agree, I saw something on my mobile device in FB and when I got to the desktop computer, I could not find it. FB is very disappointing for doing research, much less helpful tips if you don't remember where you saw it. At list with a listServ, you can search for the referenced data, but with FB, you options are very limited.

Facebook is certainly not an adequate sdubstitute for mailing lists or
newsgroups, so I hope no one ever has the bright idea of moving this list to
Facebook. As a mailinglist, I can easily save messages that contain useful
information. On facebook, it's the luck of the draw to see a message at all
-- Facebook may or may not decide to show it to you. And if you want to look
at it again 10 minutes after reading it, you can spend three hours searching
for it withoput success. In that way, Facebook can be a huge waste of time.
