Sherry,

While there is extra that can be done on the FB discussion, can the support staff post some of the more helpful tips that are discussed on FB here on the ListServ? I have used the FB discussion before and been rather dressed down by some of the 'other users' about my comments. I will look at the FB discussions in my feed, but rarely will I comment on anything directly again. I will message people who post questions or comments that I think I am able to assist with 'technical computer issues' that they raise.

For example, Michelle just posted a blog about exporting data from Legacy (7, 7.5 and 8) to .csv to create a spreadsheet to track census report.

That information might be helpful here for someone who 'lerks' on the ListServ and does not want to post anything, given some of the 'Enough is Enough' responses to this and the RIP message threads.

Both groups are active. The Facebook group is just more active now.
Legacy staff is on both lists. Some people prefer Facebook, some
prefer email lists.

Technical questions can sometimes be answered on either list, but if
it's a complex problem, it's best to contact Support on the Problem
Support Form so we can spend some dedicated time with you.

Both lists were designed to be users-helping-users with how-to
questions and ideas on how everyone uses Legacy.

So then if one is not a Face Book user there is no reason to stay in the Legacy
User Group, correct? Any questions I have that are technical should be directed
to the Technical Staff directly, correct? As a relatively new user what is the
most convenient way to do the latter?

Bill

There are two Facebook groups for Legacy - one is announcements at
https://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree, which Bobby may be thinking
of, and the other is the Legacy Users Group at
https://www.facebook.com/groups/372110202980118/

On the first group, users can't initiate posts but can respond to
them. On the Users group, anyone can initiate a moderated post.
