Cathy

I just completed a check/repair, and one error was found – but the RIN is not
for the person I emailed about = whose relationship detail I changed (she has
RIN 157). .

There are 1 Individual record(s) that reference a Preferred Marriage record
that does not exist:

Individual: RIN 162. The Preferred Marriage reference has been
removed.

It may or may not be coincidental that that person (RIN 162) also has/had no
children or relatonships (in the sense that Legacy is concerned with). However,
I’ve checked both person-records and they’re OK.

But, I should do check/repair more often.

Ian,

Two things:
1) Run a File Maintenance Check/Repair. Check the log if any and see if it
mentions the MRIN 55.

2) Check whether the person you tried to check the checkbox for already had a
partner according to Legacy. The first icon under them when they're in the main
position is the spouse icon.
But then if he/she did you wouldn't have been able to check the box on the
Individual Form as it would be greyed out. And it seems as if that was
successful - so the problem marriage may be their parents.

Legacy seems to be very flexible; I have no difficulties to report
about “Person who never married”.

However, as a trial*, I edited the data for a never-married,
no-children relative and saved (I did not edit in the marriage
window/section), and after the save L egacy popped up an error
(approximate wording) “Marriage 55 does not exist”. This has had no
repercussions, and doesn’t concern me at all – possibly Legacy
software creates/created/expected a marriage and it has been
“removed”. A minor internal software error.

* I say trial, but it was actually to correct my omission of that
status, and the current display of “No relationships and had no
children” is fine by me.
