Using the _AppData folder for any files that relate to the user and their data SHOULD BE BANNED.
I suspect that MicroSoft designed it for internal files relating to applications, which it does not matter if they are lost, and that is why they made the folder hidden so that we would not see it. Of course, we then decide to include it in our backups, because we have an application which seems to think that putting user data there is a (NOT) good idea, and have the exercise of finding out exactly which folders we want to include and which to exclude, especially since some applications place very large files in their _AppData folders. /rant Regards Chris From: LegacyUserGroup [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Denise Moss-Fritch Sent: 25 June 2017 17:44 To: 'Legacy User Group' <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Tip of the Day Michele, I was very interested to read the following in your post: > You need to backup your _AppData folder. This folder holds your custom settings. Has there ever been a feature recommendation to include the _AppData folder in Legacy's backup system? As important as this folder is I would expect the folder would have been included as part of the backup long ago. Denise
