Wally,

Are you talking about instances in narratives or the master location list?
In the Master Location list you can change every instance, and add a "short
name" for each location. When you print a report, then you select "Use
short location names".

Now if it is in narratives, search and replace works like a dream. I have
never tried changing location names via search and replace though.

This way, you can have the best of both worlds. I write out my locations in
full, as others have mentioned but then I add a "short location name" to
them as well. You can name them anything you wish, for the short locations.
>From Alderaan to Malibu Beach, to a plot of land. Just remember that it's
best to still standardize your short names, so that you don't have to make
changes later.
