Hi Legacy Users, New General Pre-Release Version Build 12 October 2003 - 5.0.0.30
There is a new build ready to be downloaded. If you already have Legacy installed you can just click on Internet, Check for Legacy Update and let it find the update to install for you. If you haven't installed the Pre-Release copy of Legacy 5.0 read this message which is a repeat of the information sent yesterday. Legacy 5.0 is almost here. In fact if you want a sneak peak you can download a copy of Legacy 5.0 right now. We going starting a short Pre-Release Public Beta process and would like to invite you to help do some testing of the new Legacy 5.0. There is some important information here so please read this carefully. Backups ===================== You should first make good backups of your Legacy 4.0 family files. We also recommend doing a File, File Maintenance, Check/Repair of your family file before installing 5.0. Backups are always a good idea. We don't think there will be any serious data problems or problems with any install. We have had over 100 people using and testing this new version over the last few months. 4.0 Deluxe Customer Number ===================== If you are using the Deluxe Edition of Legacy you should start Legacy and click on Help, General Information and make sure to write down your current Legacy 4.0 Customer Number and save it in a safe place. This number will be required to purchase an upgrade. Two Choices ===================== 1. You can install to a new folder if you like so you can continue to use version 4.0 while you test version 5.0. 2. Or, you can Install Legacy right over the top of your existing version 4.0. This is the recommended way of doing things. You won't have to copy family files, pictures and other information to a new folder and everything will be where it's supposed to be. Once installed each update will install to the folder you first install to. Don't move folders around thinking you will trick the system or the trick may be on you. When you do the Unlock you will see a message asking if you would like to see a list of all the new features in version 5.0. We recommend that you read through this list.
