Hi Jack,

Perhaps it was my explanation that was at fault. I guess I don't see how it can link people twice. I know your original query said:

While adding new people, I discover they are already in my database and I
link them as an existing wife or child or mother, etc.

Then it says they are already a wife/mother/etc and do I want to link them
again.
I do.

The only time I have ever had the program tell me that someone was already a wife, etc., was if they were already linked to that particular person... in which case, then I don't need to link them again..., or, I am linking one person to two sets of parents (such as the case of a child being adopted), in which case they should be linked.

Can you give an exact example of when you run into this double linking? I would hate to think that you are spending so much time having to manually merge each individual you have when you shouldn't need to do that except in exceptional circumstances.

Or perhaps there is some bug that I haven't run across.

Kind regards,
Brenda
New Zealand.

Hi Brenda,
You may not have been following the discussion I've had.
I have been doing exactly as you suggest.
The problem is that it links people twice.

Thanks, Jack Lane Jack & Sue Lane,
