In 40+ years of doing genealogy I have never mis-understood the idea that when a field is blank it means the person entering the data did not know the information. In other words, a blank field means "Unknown".
What an amazing principle.... So why not give the researcher the option of having "Yes" or "No" checked, OR both left blank?
