Tam, I have a separate Legacy database called researchers. Their name goes in the name fields. All our correspondence, names we are discussing goes in the general notes. So far...if I do a search and replace of the general notes I enter the name or whatever it is I want to find. Example: if I enter Closson in the search & replace, up comes all my contacts that pertain to that surname. I also put people that will do look ups and notes about it. Example: a lady in Colorado has all the cemetery books for Mahaska County Iowa and does look ups. I put her name in the name field and about the books, etc. in the general notes. Do a search & replace of the notes and up comes every one pertaining the Mahaska.
