Thanks, Dennis. Yes the Gen'l Info does say I have the DeLuxe edition. I also shows 0 individuals, 0 families, 0 unique surnames, and 0 Master Souce Entries. And yes, I do have the family file open.

I can re-import it so I guess it's no big deal, but I don't want that kind of thing to happen again.

Or how do I open a backup file--I can't seem to find how to do that.

Well, as far as opening the Family File, I did that originally and again
this time.  And it displays the name of the family file at the top of the
window -- there just aren't any names in it!

Go to Help>General Information...

It will tell you if you have the Deluxe version. It will also tell you
the number of individuals in the database.
