thanks a lot - I'll try this. As well I just wanted to avoid the many Given Names in an output like descendant charts or - reports in Legacy Charting Companion. I don't like using AKAs because I had to type thousands of new AKAs in this way. I hope I can avoid this!

Re your second question.
Check out "quoted name".
In reports you can choose to omit it when the name is listed but use it in narrative.

You'd enter your example as
Arthur Johann Martin Gabriel "Johann"
Then the narrative reads eg: Johann married ...
It is also picked up in Event sentences where you'd otherwise have the First Given Name.

I don't know how TNG handles this. You may be better off using AKA.
