p.script gives you the script composed of the node and its descendants (supports @doc sections, section references, @others, etc.), while p.nosentinels gives only the p.b stripped of Leo directives. They are implemented in totally different ways. If you don't want p.nosentinels it would probably be best to get rid of it.
