Here is what might change my mind:

1. A git branch that changes implements the new data model, changing only 
leoNodes.py.

The code must contain only the new data model, not a mix of the old and new 
data models.

All unit tests must pass, which would likely ensure that Leonine scripts 
would work as before.

2. A git branch that greatly speeds up Leo's *existing* Qt drawing code, 
changing only leo/plugins/qt_tree.py.

Again, all unit tests must pass.
