Such semantics breaks the uniformity and beauty of Linux by adding in kludges and detracts from the beauty of UNIX. Likewise with your suggestion for M*tif. May I suggest that you concentrate on other things, perhaps pushing for a GNU Office clone? That at least is desperately needed to put GNU on the map.
