I remember my first LFS build. Was way out of the conventional as LFS called for using Linux-2.4 but I installed 2.6, requiring some massaging, and I used many updated packages, (I was following the stable 2.4 book, but used updated packages, I didn't even know about CVS LFS) but it came up first time, perfectly. Of course, I ran into trouble installing ALSA, because I used raw kernel headers (I don't think the Linux-Libc-Headers project existed at the time), but I didn't care. It booted perfectly and came up first time. Not one glitch. It was soooo cool. I have been an LFSer ever since. Congratulations on your first build. I'm now on my close to 10,000th. Well, maybe not that many. May you continue to enjoy the LFS way of computing. -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 21:49:00 up 128 days, 7:13, 3 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.08 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
