Correct, of course.  When I copy the script from the book, I insert an
echo in front to show the required version listed in the book, so I
don't have to refer to the book at the same time.  One less VT.

I see now you're right.  No explanation why I was reading that wrong.
Temporary confusion?  Seeing periods where they aren't?  (No, seriously,
I did have a strange, possibly serious, visual "episode" today.  Got to
go see my GP ASAP, and we've got to discuss authorizing a brain scan.)

Because I've had bad experience trying to skip too far ahead.  That's
why I've taken the jump from 6.6 in two bounds, pausing at 7.2 on the
way.  I am essentially a computer *user*.  Having the latest and
greatest isn't my goal.  Having something I can use is.  Trouble is,
"the industry" keeps moving the goal posts.  ;-[

CentOS is a RedHat derivative.  It's yum/rpm.
