What you are talking about is a subculture. USA has no culture.
My background is art history.

The U.S. most certainly has culture. It is a culture of excellence.
It is a culture of diversity. It is a culture of creativity. It is
historically a culture of freedom and despite the efforts of some is
still vastly more free than any other industrialized nation on earth.

Where do you think Rock & Roll was invented? Where was the assembly
line created? What nation has the best films? (and don't even try to
claim it's anywhere in Europe or India because you'll be laughed at)
  Where was Jazz created?

Virtually every great invention in the last 150 years has come from
America. We also have some of the best artists in music, film, stage,
  painting, poetry, etc.

America has a culture that embraces the best in all things and makes
it our own. The very best Mexicans, Black, Irish, Italians, Russians,
Chinese, Indian, Persian, etc. people aren't in Mexico, Africa,
Ireland, Italy, Russia, China, India, Iran, or anywhere else. They
are right here in America. They got tired of their situation and
instead of whining about it, they came here to work and build
  something better.

The most productive, intelligent, hard-working, dedicated, and
talented people on earth come to America for a chance to make it on
thier own talents. Many would run through a hail of bullets merely
for the chance to vote and to live under capitalism. These people are
usually the ones in communist or socialist nations.

Because people are rewarded under capitalism, the best artists,
doctors, lawyers, engineers, writers, scientists, and others come here
where their dedication and hard work will pay off. Every member of
the Bolshoi Ballet would have given up everything they had for the
chance to be a regular dancer on Broadway.

change of goals, from a spiritual/artistic, to PROFITS FIRST.
