The problem is that the maintenance costs of a road are expensive. I don´t
know this road, but most highways have a heavy maintenance cost. Sometimes,
in few years, it can be so expensive as the cost to build the highway.

My impression is that the libertarians in this case are demanding the
carless taxpayer to pay for the maintenance of the road. I think that
libertarians should fight for the end of the highway bill and the
privatization of the Interstate Highway System, not fighting against toll
roads.
