[ModeratorNote: this post is NOT a cause for
an orgy of name calling and people labeling!

The author appears to me to have made a resonable
attempt at identifying a pivotal LIBERTARIAN issue.

How CREDIBLE is the threat and what has/is its
provocation?

Libertarianism's defining principle: each person is
free to do as chosen by their own free will EXCEPT
initiate, or do a credible threat to initiate,
physical force against the person or justly held
possessions of another.

AKA: non-aggression principle, physical aggression
truce, reciprocal comprehensive physical autonomy
for each and every person, and so on.

There's a new political movement rising. It's a coalition of real world
libertarians who are sick and tired of the ambivelence on Muslim extremist of
pacifist anti-War libertarians, and others who have been outside of the
libertarian movement for years, unable to come aboard repulsed by the
radicalism of the movement's anti-War wing.

What is a "Dennis Miller libertarian"?

From a New York Times profile of the comedian Dennis Miller, 15 January 2004:

Mr. Miller is also not a traditional conservative. "I've always been a
pragmatist," he said. "If two gay guys want to get married, it's none of my
business. I could care less. More power to them. I'm happy when people fall in
love. But if some idiot foreign terrorist wants to blow up their wedding to
make a political statement, I would rather kill him before he can do it, or
have my country kill him before he can do it, instead of having him do it and
punishing him after the fact. If that makes me a right-wing fanatic, I will
bask in that assignation."

Mr. Miller said he remained socially liberal. "I think abortion's wrong, but
it's none of my business to tell somebody what's wrong," he said. "So I'm
pro-choice. I want to keep my nose out of other people's personal business. I
guess I fall into conservative when it comes to protecting the United States in
a world where a lot of people hate the United States."

In the coming months activist "real worlder" libertarians will work to bring
these fine gentleman and ladies into the libertarian coalition.

Watch out Non-interventionist libertarians who preach ambivelence in the face
of rising Muslim violence against the West and our Western values of tolerance,
sexual liberation and individual liberty.
