If you give the government the power to take the property from one to give to another, they can take it for anyone reason those in power desire. First it's feeding kids. Then it's educating them. Then it's protecting them from competition through anti-labor, pro-union laws, then it's protecting them from natural disasters through FEMA and from terrorists through Homeland Security. Once they have the power to coerce, there's nothing to stop them for using that coercion to get what they want.
