In the Anglo-French Declaration of 7 November, 1918 the two governments
stated that
The object aimed at by France and Great Britain in prosecuting in
the East the War let loose by the ambition of Germany is the complete
and definite emancipation of the peoples so long oppressed by the Turks
and the establishment of national governments and administrations
deriving their authority from the initiative and free choice of the
indigenous populations.[15]
For example, the Arab side argued that the phrase "cannot be said to be
purely Arab" did not apply to Palestine, while the British pointed to
the Jewish and Christian *minorities* in Palestine.

Dear Lord Rothschild,
I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of His Majesty's
Government, the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist
aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet:
"His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in
Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their
best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being
clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the
civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in
Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any
other country"

Once again while the Arabs were out giving blood for what
they were promised, they Zionist were being promised the same thing,
though I don't recall them fielding an army to fight for it.
Seems the Christians should be ticked too.
Oh, that's right, the Christians in the area
are still ticked, though Bob refuses to realize that both Christians and
Jews in the area today are just as much against the State of Israel's
aggression and theft as the Arabs.
