So, this isn't a bug in the DATEDIF implementation, it's a bug in the UI, the docs, and the spec. I might be able to submit an update for the documentation, but figuring out how to add UI to indicate archaic functions and/or getting involved in spec changes are more than I can take on. Looking for how to change documentation I find https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Development says to start by creating a new topic in https://community.documentfoundation.org/c/documentation/ , which I can log in to but cannot create a new topic in.
