Which is the topic here and still an issue.

The area fill "style" is actually a direct formatting rather than a style.
Would you expect that user-defined solid colors are taken from this setting,
like you define MyBrand=#FF0000, change it later to #00FF00, and that modifies
all previously added shapes?

"Not always" is hard to track. If you think there is an issue please file a new
bug. #4 is a consequence of #3, I guess.
