Proposal of new arrangement of dialog parts
We should discuss the general "definition <-> style" problem on a mailing list.
Back to the "gradient step" problem:
"Increment" is only applicable, if the dialog is used to apply a direct
formatting of a background or if defining a style. "Increment" is not
applicable if using the dialog to alter an existing gradient or add a new
gradient. Perhaps this will become more obvious, if the "Increment" part is
moved from inside the settings to below, see attached image.
The part "Increment" needs to be hidden or disabled, if the dialog is called
without a context of style or object, e.g. if calling it by Format > Area.
