Hi Steve and the rest of U...
I hate writing the same things already mentioned... burt maybe this way Steve
gets a bit more certain about what is the best thing to do in his casa...

If U really have the right Boot Disk it's really safe... so do it. (Anyway I
don't think it will help).

Imho this is the most likely reason for the Libbys sudden death. Whenever I
travelled to a tropical region during the "wet season" (which in Thailand
definately is the case now) I experienced some touble with my Libby. It would
sometimes just shut off with the orange LED flashing. Sometimes the orange
LED would even start flashing when just plugging in the power adapter into
the switched off Libretto (even with a full battery in).
My Libby never failed in any other climate... so I guess it's the humidity.

Actually the most important thing is to get the air dry (which is the case
obviously in a freezer).
But an easier way might be to leave it in an air conditioned (electically
airconditioned, not one of these "wet-towel-in-air-flow-constructions") room
for several hours with the battery out of it. If this does not work, try the
freezer.
Getting the computer as cold as possible does only help if some component is
already broken and it's not just a short circuit caused by condensated water.
Hope this helps
Olaf
