Subject: other OS's

Here is what might be an odd question.

I've just had a Libretto 50 dropped in my lap because its previous owner
found it too slow. While I agree that 75Mhz and 16 Mb of RAM isn't state of
the art, I hate the idea of pitching such a cool tool.

My question is thus; what other OS's are out there that can run on this
limited muscle (Win98 WinNT WinCE RedHat BEOS)?

Next, I'm curious about people's experience with specific MS OS's. I want
to be practical about this and want to use this to supplement my office
computer. I doubt that I will be able to convince my employer to change all
of our computers to Linux!

First, will WinCe run on the libretto? I'm drawn to the promise of instant
on, and longer battery life. I also figure that since it is designed to run
with "smaller" processors, that it would be a good candidate. I know that I
would be limited to the packages that come with CE, but these are the ones
that work with my office system (ie Word, Excel, etc).

Second, because I want to be able to use MS Office compatible software,
which of the remaining MS OS's would give me the best performance?

Thanks up front for any advise.

I look forward to keeping my new found computer working for years!
