If you are into the M$ Windows world:
My recommendation would be to install Win98SE+98Lite.
The rational would be that Win98SE is more stable,
has better memory management, and better drivers.
Don't underestimate the last point. You'll probably
install lots of software and connect your Libby to
lots of hardware...so it will be a pain if you don't
have the latest drivers to begin with.

HOWEVER, Win98SE also include the dreaded IE4 or IE5
sub-system. That's why you should use the free
version of 98Lite (from www.98Lite.net) to remove
the IE component. With this combination you will
get a better Win95 than Win95 itself, and yet
not as bloated as Win98 or WinME. :)

Try M$ Office97. Again, this version is a balance
between bug-fixes, stability and bloatware. Office2K
is too bloated and Office95 maybe too incompatible
with the rest of the Windows world (you'll be surprise
when you open some documents created with Office2K).

One final thing is that since your L50 only has
16MB of RAM and 1.6G HD, when installing any software,
try to pick and choose those that are optimise for
such a system.

Have fun!
