  Or better yet, post it with tests of how you determined where the hibernation
information was written on the HD.

  If the hibernation partition is to be ignored, on <=L110 models, simply put
in HD, boot from floppy disk containing a boot manager program, partition and
format, then install OS, drivers, and applications.

  For Linux, or any other OS, if you don't care to find out where the
hibernation partition is, simply allocate about 100MB of empty space at the 8Gb
limit, then another 100MB at the end of the HD.  Naturally, this means two
partitions, but it will ensure the hibernation partition doesn't overwrite
data.

  (We already know for sure that under Linux alone, the hibernation info is
placed at the 8GB limit. Thus, two partitions are required.)

  I have heard people getting >8GB HDs to work in the <=L110 with win2k
automatically and Partition magic in their desktops before putting it into the
L's, but none of them have tested to see exactly where the hibernation
information is placed.
