Actually, even if I'm using Netscape, the IE window pops upp to negatiate the connection. This because of the way Microsoft integrates MSIE with the OS. No matter what browser or D.M. I've tried this by right clicking, copying the URL, and pasting it into the D.M.. It still downloads the HTML. SOMETIMES is doesn't, and sometimes it does. I haven't figured out what's cauing this. But the use of a D.M. seems useless at a site like Yahoo that doesn't support resuming file transfers when they get cut off. By disabling the download managers and simply right clicking on the file link and choosing "Save target as", the MP3 files always START downloading, not the files with the HTML error message. But another problem I'm having is that Yahoo seems to timeout the transfer after 6-10 minutes whether or not the file is finished downloading.... but that's another problem. >Also try setting the download manager ID string to that of the browser >you're using. Well... I'm only one of a couple of people who have the problem of getting these little HTML files instead of the MP3. I've been trying to get help from Yahoo, but I'll be going on my 3rd week at trying to get support from them, with receiving one of two messages from them that addressed the problem. Great! If a couple more people can confirm that they've not had any probems with IE5 with their L50/L70s, I think I'll install it. Any suggetions on what options to add/disable if prompted? I wonder if people have found that the newer versions of Netscape work well on the L50/70s. I'm still using the last stand alone version, v4.08, since I don't use the email or news software the other versions include. Thanks for your input Raymond!
