I had *EXACTLY* this problem with my L110. Once it had started, I would occasionally boot up and find the display either working without fault (ie completely better) or completely unreadable (ie much worse) but something like 95 percent of the time it was the vertically striped shading you describe above. Sometimes, when using the mouse, I noticed that pressure applied to the lid between the on/off switch and the mouse would make the problem appear or disappear. I demonstrated all this to the Toshiba distributor in Bangkok, and they diagnosed it as a bad connection within the LCD assembly and pronounced it replaceable FOC under warranty. However - after waiting several weeks for them to have a screen sent up from Singapore - they then changed this and decided I should cough up a small fortune for shipping and import duty, so I took it to the Toshiba distributor in Kuala Lumpur, where they made an identical diagnosis; they actually had a screen in stock, and replaced mine FOC. Sorry I can't be more helpful about the specifics of the diagnosis - in each case, they spoke limited English, and the only languages I can claim to have any worthwhile understanding of are English and FoxPro. ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
