I thought we went through putting IE 5.5 on this L70 a month or two back. All the replies I got point to its working well on a L70. >Haven't tried it on Librettos, but 98lite on a 100Mhz desktop PC at >work >makes even w98 run very well with IE ripped out completely. Remember that long thread I had a year or more back on "No sound in DOS", where it turned out that even though people said the drivers wouldn't effect sound in DOS... installing them was finally got the sound going?! >eg. right now with IE 5.5, Notepad, Explorer, Wireless modem software, >Bluekite, and a few other toolbar icons loaded, the L110 already says >it >has used up all the RAM and swapped out 25MB to disk under w98se A long time ago I learned I didn't need 99% of the apps that insist on being loaded at boot and sit in system tray, and just sit there doing nothing, sucking power. The only thing I have running there is the volume control, which doesn't need to be there either. Especially no virus software as has been pointed out recently. I think I'm one of few people who had no problem running MusicMatch 4.0 running pretty well (as long as I didn't do anything else) on my 50CT! Whenever something pops up in the system try, I run msconfig and turn it off.
