  Doesn't matter where the \win98 directory sits on your HD before installing
windows (just not the same directory as where you'll but windows (eg. no \win98
=> \windows))

  Putting it in subdirectories like \installs\win98\ is fine as well.

  I'm on 8.1 on the L110 right now and it's perfectly happy. Toshiba notes the
fixes on their website description for the BIOS, so that's the very first thing
I did.

  Power control panel -> last tab -> enable hibernation.
  Toshiba control panel -> turn on Hibernate when Power button is pressed.

  That way, if you briefly push it to beep, it'll hibernate to disk. Press it
longer and it'll do a full power off immediately.

  That's why I use Netscape 4.79. Just backup the entire \netscape\users\
directory and you'll be able to put back all of your bookmarks, address books,
news groups, and mail from backup.

  You'll need to setup win9x then install the Toshiba accessories/control panel
downloads from www.csd.toshiba.com. At that point, a new icon will appear in
the control panel which allows you to setup the various HW settings (similar to
what you see in the BIOS setup screen), such as hibernation features.
