Hey they could have left my package in the US and your package here in Oz, we could
have just swapped and saved us both the shipping!

Lucky ... mine got caught up in those anthrax scares and took a month, also with USPS
:-/

I don't think LiIon batteries even count as being caustic ... certainly NiMH and NiCAD
batteries (despite the warnings on them) are pretty harmless even if you do end up
with the contents all over yourself (just as long as you don't get any IN yourself!).

OK that does it, I'm getting a new pack for this laptop ... heh
When you say PA2498U guts in the PA2503U case do you mean just the cells or do you
also mean the charging electronics? I've got a PA2441U here (the standard pack for a
Portege 300 from the same era), I know I could probably remove the cells and put them
in the existing one but seeing as the existing PA2403U is still doing reasonably well
I'm wondering what the chances are I could just do a bit of cutting here and there and
get it to fit (the connector seems to be identical, its just displaced to the left by
about 8mm or so) ... the pack itself is virtually identical in size and shape to the
PA2503U, its just perhaps half a millimeter longer (as in I could probably force it to
fit into the libby but I'd warp the case).
