Won't the condensation ruin it? Hope not!! I have all my batteries in the fridge, tightly bagged in Zip-Loks. Haven't had a problem yet, but now of course you've made me paranoid - thanks! ;-) > > > >> OK that does it, I'm getting a new pack for this laptop ... heh > >> When you say PA2498U guts in the PA2503U case do you mean just the cells > > >or > >> do you also mean the charging electronics? > > > >The whole package, cells, circuit board, in one piece. (or was the charging board on the 2503 fried?) ... It was just easier and faster to simply swap out the whole unit. I've kept the 2503 circuit boards for spares. The PA2498U connector is identical to the 2503/2502, so geometry and operation are unaffected. > > > > The difficulty really is getting one's hands on dead (& > >cheap) 2503s and 2502s for the transplant. > > Where would one start looking? Now you've got me interested ... if I can't > get the flylead idea to work I might just replace the cells in a dead 2503 ... > if I can FIND a dead 2503 ... I ran an ad in a local weekly computer rag, and I got one using posts on Xin Yeng's site. Of course, one of the two 2503s which came with my L100 was dead, so that started the experiment. Now there's one less dead 2503 in Australia though - sorry, mate!
