From: "John Musielewicz" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Hey John,
Hi Matt
I am not familiar with Satallites but in my experience laptops should boot
even with a totally bad battery as long as the ac adapter is connected. It
sounds to me like there might be something wrong with the charging circuit
in the laptop. A short probably. You may be able to find it with a ohmmeter.
Hmmm... wonder if that's what people have found with their Librettos.
I've glanced at such discussions, but don't quite remember them very well. I'm not much at circuit troubleshooting, other than when Neil told me where to look and what to measure to get my L70's screen back in order.
But the Satellite's AC power LED (did I write LCD before?... I did, didn't I?) glows green fine with no battery and boots fine. But glows orange with the battery and won't boot. Why the charging circuit would do that is beyond me.
Matt
