Hey Raul! From: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Matt! I was a previous owner of a Satellite. And I already encountered the problem you have right now. Its usually a bad battery until proven otherwise. The best way to check short of opening the unit is to get a working battery for that unit and install it. This is what I did. Lucky me the shop where I brought my unit had a satellite of the same model also for repair, and viola, it readily resolved my problem. Satellites are pretty sturdy units. I see that this is going to be a handme down to your niece, and I believe your niece will still enjoy years of word processing and emails if a new battery can be installed. Raul
Thanks for your reply. It's good to get feedback from someone with experience with this system. If it is in fact just a bad battery, maybe I can find my neice another, or at least tell her it'd be possible to get the system working with a new one at some point.
I wonder if it's possible to rebuild one. That'd be kind of a fun challange. I see them going for an average of $45 - $50 on Ebay.
Matt
