Again, thank you for all your comments.  I will be purchasing my hard drive
today and will probably install it tonite if I do have the time.  I may not
be able to respond immediately since my computer will be down but will let
you guys know how I fared after a day or two.

I always use laplink cable to transfer the installation disks then install
from the hard drive.  It takes a while but I can always leave it alone
while eating dinner.

I do prefer though Matt's suggestion of starting the installation with a
smaller partition to avoid the hybernation area completely.  Then from
there, I will have to find my old copy of Partition Magic 3.0 to setup the
rest of my computer.
