Hi I believe you can do it manually? Your Provider (Verizon) assign you IP Address using DHCP, which assign IP's automaticlly. If, you want a static IP, I believe they charge a little more on your montly bill. Now, on your side of the DSL connection, if want to split the connection you need a 4 port Router or a wireless Router (its a 4 port Router with a AP in one housing). Router run from $40 bucks and up, (here in SoutherCalif) Once you connect your DSL modem to the router using a CAT 5 cable (comes with router). You can now connect up to 4 computers if you have a 4 port Router, more with a wireless Router. If, you need more than 4 wired computer, you would connect a CAT 5 cable to one of the router port and the other end to a 4 or 8,16,32 port Switch. Now, you can go into the router setup by going to your browser and type 192.168.0.1 (# may vary?),you can setup Static IP Addresses or DHCP IP Addresses (which assign them automaticlly), NAT, FireWall (mostly all Router have hardware firewalls built-in) You also need to go to each computer NIC Card Properties to put in the Static IP Address or click on DHCP. good luck----- Original Message ----- From: "Matthew Hanson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Libretto" <libretto@basiclink.com> Sent: Monday, April 18, 2005 11:35 PM Subject: [LIB] How to share broadband with a home network ? > Date: Tue, 19 Apr 2005 06:34:21 +0000 > From: "Matthew Hanson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: How to share broadband with a home network ? > > We've finally made the leap to broadband signing up for the Verizon > $29.95/month deal with a year's commitment.
