At any rate: since this regression has been traced to a commit not supposed
to actually influence page breaking, it won't stop me from creating the
stable 2.18 branch. But a release of 2.18 will depend on this regression
getting fixed.
I'll see whether I can come up with some code showing the difference
without requiring the involvement of the pagebreaker.
