Taxes. That's the only thing I currently boot windows for. And I
think you could do that in Wine.
But I think you need to keep a windows partition around, because when
you buy new hardware and it doesn't work right in LINUX, trying it in
windows gives you a better handle on the problem.
But I'm getting frustrated enough with sound programs in LINUX that
when I get my fancy new machine with the SBLive soundcard that comes
with lots of windows software, I may try some of it out.
Is anyone actually going from recording to mp3's all in LINUX? It
looks to me like most of the mp3 encoders were tested by ripping cd's,
and I'm having trouble figuring out how to create the .wav file they
need from my own stuff.
