I am likewise unfamiliar with localized versions of Director.  I was thinking of Director's ability 
to display multi-byte characters on systems with multi-byte language packs installed.  For example, 
OSX 10.3 includes the option to install a number of Asian language packs.  I've only ever worked 
with those.
