I've only tested this with some Shift-JIS (CP 932) encoded japanese text so far, more testing and feedback would be very welcome. And I've not tested it at all on a double-byte operating system (with romanLingo=False), this would very likely not work yet. The new feature means, that the script is now also capable of converting text encoded with some double-byte codepage like - Japanese Shift-JIS (CP 932) - Simplified Chinese GBK (CP 936) - Korean (CP 949) - Traditional Chinese Big5 (CP 950) to Unicode/UTF-8, and vice versa. It does NOT offer a new way to display such text in director on single-byte systems apart from the known ways to use Unicode in director (flash, embedded browser, MS Rich Textbox Control).
