Alright, since there's obvious enough people paying attention to respond in the last hour, and it's still valuable, we'll keep it up. Yes, it may well flow back this direction again - this is a funny industry we're in.

I'm not sure how to "integrate" it with Direct-L, people who want to be on both just subscribe to both.

I actually started this list as an alternative to Direct-L, which was All Things Director, and questions were all over the map like "how do I change the palette" to all kinds of score and media questions, and how they should compress the video, and so this list was meant to just be a pure lingo-only programming-only list, for the most part, and also to be absent the ridiculous flame wars we'd get on Direct-L (at least back then) that would fill up the mailbox.

Well, I'm glad people are happy enough to keep it going. I will leave the cord in the the power outlet.

As far as Eudora, no, I never got past 5.02 (I think). After that, they moved to that subscription model where you had to pay every year, and given that (1) Eudora had problems if there were over 16,000 (probably 16535) messages in a mailbox (I used to have to archive them off) and (2) they never fixed the bug where it crashed if the Internet connection was lost upon checking email, and (3) I had already paid once for it, and didn't see why I had to pay every year for the same program, I just stayed at 5.02.

But that's okay, 'cause I'm using Thunderbird right now, and it's pretty darn good. There's a few things missing that Eudora has, but it's open source, so in theory I could put in what's missing. Eudora was the only alternative to Outlook (which I refuse to go near), but now that there's a replacement, and inertia's no longer an issue, I have kissed Eudora goodbye.
