Just think of all the crappy projects out there that are proudly displaying
the MWM logo. I remember one of the first projects I did in college and it
was pretty lame!

Someone mentioned how most clients don't care about other logos and
everything; We had a client upset because an alert box (in a web-based
course) said Microsoft Internet Exporer on the title bar. Give me a break!

Yes. But without that logo presence, no one would know it, because
the message would never have been sent five years ago.

I've never had a client object to the MWM logo on the packaging. But
then I'm the guy who keeps talking them out of autorun as well, and
who insists on making xplat versions of everything (which is good
because so far EVERY CLIENT has asked for a Mac version eventually,
despite insisting up front no Mac version would ever be needed).

It's anecdotal, of course, but so is everyone else's account about
client stories re objecting to this or wanting that. End of the day,
Macromedia became "the" toolmaker at least in part because they put
their logo on everything, letting everyone know how that particular
cool thing came into existence. I doubt you are going to unseat that
reality from their licensing folks' minds. Cause and effect are very
powerful teachers.
