Hi John
Maybe perhaps you could give us some detail on how this project is
constructed.. what kind of stuff you are doing as much detail as possible.
As you step through what is roughly happening on each screen a light bulb
might come on and say hey this could be the problem.
I've run into similar problems in a large project but that turned out to be
the result of 2 programmers not communicating and therefore not clearing
object references. IF it is a shocked project can you post a URL that we can
see to see this particular leak in action?
I hate to say it, while perhaps Director's memory management isn't perfect,
it generally falls into a programmer realm as to the cause of a leak. are
you using flash... are you using a lot of flash.. are you using the original
xtras that shipped wiht D8 or did you sneak in a few from a later version of
shockwave..
What media types do you use.. what do you do with them.. do you have 300
plus flash sprites on stage.. are you using anything other than behaviours..
are you creating new castmembers, erasing members doing other castmember
manipulations that would change the content of a castmember ??
What exactly is your project doing???
Sincerely
Mark R. Jonkman
