Hi,
        LDM's are basically your regular flavored director movies its just that
when you imported a director movie earlier on it would be imported as a film
loop with all the cast members being imported to your main cast.
        Now when you import the file you can set as link to external file and this
will make it an independent movie that works as it would normally in
director i.e: it will behave according to its own scripts and will respond
to mouse events etc. Though it has a few quirks which you can find on
Director-online.there is a very useful article on director-online which will
be very useful. do check it out.
