But have you looked at it recently? Last time I looked I found support for a second initrd image for the starter system to make adding the OCO modules fairly easy.

PS With SuSE you get the OCO version from the day they cut the kernel
rpm package. From what I see the OCO modules are refreshed more
frequently (with a reason quite often) than the kernel package on the
SuSE maintenance web. So even with SuSE you may need to find the stuff
and install it yourself.
