I guess they are just oblivious to the thought that the "Intellectual
Property" may be compromised !
Try to prosecute someone in another country for stealing your IP, good luck !
We have a partner who just convinced a local LARGE bank to not go offshore
for it's IT division, because of the "RISK" factor with "IP" Maybe others
should get on the same boat ? If the costs of doing business here are so
high, then why not try to offer these positions here first and see if they
get any takers ! I know lots of laid off IT people who would love taking
a job with IBM even at a 50% pay cut just to keep the jobs here in the USA
! Big Corps really need to "Re-think" what the long term effects are to
the core business, security, and the economy just to say a few. Im getting
to the point where if a company is going to "Outsource" its business to an
offshore country, Im just not going to do business with them, period.

Everyone is doing it. Locally, The Sutherland Group has 2000 employees in

From what I hear there are thousands of programmers in India's highly
trained workforce writing programs that used to be written here. Again,
the savings are there for the taking. Accountants here are out of work for
the same reason. After experiencing several downsizings and a company
going bankrupt right under my feet, I snagged a technical career in local
government and am still going ok. But, I wonder when they are going to
jump on the bandwagon.

I may end up going to Chef's school.

Did anybody pickup the article that IBM was shipping another 600
jobs to outside the US ?
